Merger of banks

   Taking a big decision, the central government has announced a merger of several banks. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that United Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Punjab National Bank will merge. 
 
   On the other hand, Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank will also be merged together. Similarly, Union Bank, Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank will also be merged. 
  Indian Bank and Allahabad Bank will also merge together. With this big announcement by the central government, now the number of public sector banks in the country will come down to 12. 
   The Finance Minister said that the decisions taken by the government have begun to be implemented.

New India Voice of 130 Crore Indians

   Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the spirit of a new India is visible in new areas, be it sports or start-ups. He said that the courageous youth of small towns and villages are turning their aspirations into excellence and bringing glory to India. 
 
   This is an India where corruption is not an option for anyone. The only way is efficiency. He stressed that New India is the voice of every 130 crore Indians. 
  He said that it is important for media forums to listen to the voice of the public. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Malayala Manorama Conclave 2019 held in Kochi today through video conferencing.

  He emphasized that the new India partnership is about democracy, citizen centric government and citizens' activism. He said that New India is an era of responsible people and responsible government. Referring to the work done by the government, the Prime Minister made various efforts such as ease of living, controlling prices, building 1.25 crore houses in five years, electrification of all villages, making drinking water available to every family and health and education infrastructure Mentioned reform.

Will we ever be free from dirt? Will we be able to end policy weakness? Will we ever eradicate corruption? Today people are saying that we will, we will be a clean India, we will be a nation free of corruption, we will make good governance a mass movement. Earlier, the word 'will' used to give a pessimistic message, now this word expresses the optimistic feeling of the young nation.
   The Prime Minister, referring to his recent visit to Bahrain, said that he had the distinction of becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Bahrain. He said that the highlight of his visit is the royal family's decision to donate forgiveness to the 250 Indian people lodged in the jails there. The Prime Minister referred to the launch of RuPay cards in the United Arab Emirates and said that this would benefit the millions of people working in the Gulf who send money abroad.

Scheme of More Than 1.5 Lakh Health Centers

   Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that apart from the modern sector, necessary reforms are being done to bring more professionals for AYUSH.
 
 He appreciated the idea of ​​creating an AYUSH grid and said that it would help in removing the shortcomings in this area. The Prime Minister said that the government is keeping Ayush in mind in the context of planning more than 1.5 lakh health centers in the country. 
  He said that 12.5 thousand Ayush Arogya Kendras have been planned, out of which about 4,000 centers will be opened this year. 
  Prime Minister Narendra Modi today presented Yoga Awards to those who made outstanding contributions for the promotion and development of Yoga in New Delhi. These awards were announced on the occasion of International Yoga Day in Ranchi. Along with this, the event organized by the Ministry of AYUSH also includes two winners from the previous year. 
  The Prime Minister also released a set of 12 postage stamps to commemorate the achievements and contributions of the great and veteran doctors of the AYUSH system. The Prime Minister also started 10 AYUSH Health and Health Centers located in Haryana. 
   It is noteworthy that the Ministry of AYUSH has set a target of opening 12,500 AYUSH Health and Health Centers in the next three years.   The 2018 Yoga Award winners include Vishwas Mandlik of Nashik in Individual-National category and Yoga Institute of Organization-National category, Mumbai. Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Shripad Yesso Naik congratulated the Prime Minister Yoga Award winners.
   He said that yoga is the security of health, for which we do not have to spend any money. Recalling the contribution of the great visionaries of the region, Mr. Naik said, "The contribution of these veteran physicians is incomparable.

Pak has no right to interfere in Jammu and Kashmir: Rajnath

   Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Pakistan has no right to interfere in Kashmir. He should stop making statements in India's internal affairs. 
 
   The Defense Minister inaugurated the 26th Kisan Jawan Science Fair organized in Leh by the High Altitude Defense Research Institute (DIHAR).

  Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Fit India campaign at a function held in New Delhi on the occasion of National Sports Day. 
 
  The Prime Minister urged the countrymen to make fitness a part of their lifestyle. Inaugurating the mass campaign on the birthday of Major Dhyanchand, the Prime Minister paid tribute to India's sporting paradigm Major Dhyanchand, who won the heart of the world with his sports and technology.

Earlier a person walked many kilometers on foot or bicycle, today the mobile app tells us how many steps we have taken. 
   The Prime Minister said, "Lifestyle diseases are increasing in India today and youth are also being affected by it. Cases of diabetes and hypertension are increasing and even in India children are getting these diseases. But minor lifestyle changes can prevent these lifestyle-related diseases. The Fit India campaign is an attempt to bring about minor changes in lifestyle. 
  The Prime Minister said that people associated with any profession can play a more effective role in their profession if they remain mentally and physically fit. If the body is fit then you are mentally fit also. Sports is directly related to fitness. But the Fit India campaign aims to go beyond fitness. Fitness is not just a word but an essential pillar of a healthy and prosperous life.

  Amit Shah said that the Police Research and Development Bureau can play an influential role in strengthening the policing of the states. He said that BPRD should make a strong plan for police modernization of the state. Amit Shah said that when the police system was established in the British time in the country, then the idea of ​​protecting the state, protecting the treasury, suppressing the revolutionaries etc. This reflected his thinking as he had to retain his kingdom. 
  Mr. Shah said that for the first time after independence, Sardar Patel entrusted the police with the responsibility of serving the people and protecting human rights and I am satisfied that this work has been done so far.

Fare discount scheme in trains like Shatabdi

   The discount fare scheme will be applicable from the end of next month on AC chair car and executive class of trains like Shatabdi, Gatimaan, Tejas, Double Decker, Intercity. 
 
   The right to exempt railway fares has been given to the Principal Chief Commercial Managers of Zonal Railways. 
  This exemption will be given only in trains in which less than 50 per cent of the seats were reserved last year. This discount on rail tickets can be availed up to 25 percent on the basic fare. Reservation fee, superfast fee, GST etc. will be applicable separately. 
   This discount will be valid for the first leg or last leg of the journey. This exemption can also be obtained for the middle stretch of the journey or for the entire journey. 
  The benefit of discount can be availed on weekdays, weekends, month wise, seasonal, for a part of the year or for the whole year. The Directorate of Commerce of the Railway Board has directed all Divisional Offices to review the total reserved seats of Chair Car and Executive Class in all trains by September 30, 2019 and then take appropriate action. 
   The presently released rebate scheme will continue to be applicable in the following trains. 12007/12008 Chennai Madhya Mysuru Shatabdi Express on Bengaluru-Mysuru-Bengaluru Rail section, 12010 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Mid-century Train on Ahmedabad-Vadodara Rail section, 12042 New Jalpaiguri-Hora Shatabdi Express on Jalpaiguri-Malda City Rail section.

Not Sufficient Health Facilities

   It is reported that experts from Harvard University have found that Indian women are also victim of discrimination in terms of health services.
 
  Due to conservative thinking, women are often unable to tell about their health problems. According to reports, a joint study conducted by researchers from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the Statistical Institute of India, the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council and Harvard University has found that gender discrimination in India results in bad health on women. It is affecting.   
   According to the news, the researchers studied the records of 23,77,028 patients who visited AIIMS from January to December 2016. The study found that only 33 percent of women get healthcare. At the same time, the rate is 67 percent among men.
   AIIMS is the third largest hospital in Asia. High level treatment facilities are available here. According to the news, every year more than 20 lakh patients are treated here. Four states, Bihar, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, comprise 90 percent of the patients visiting here. The total population of these four states is more than 39 crores.
   According to the news, research has shown that the reproductive age of a woman plays a big role in determining whether she can reach a doctor for treatment. Women between 31 and 44 years of age have to face less of gender discrimination. 
  The figure of 1.5 male patients per female patient has been found in this age range. At the same time, the rate of gender discrimination in women aged 45 to 59 is 1.4 male patients per female patient. Gender discrimination with women up to the age of 18 increases to 1.9 male patients per woman and to 2.02 male patients per woman with women between 19 and 30 years of age. In 2016, this rate was 1.7 male patients compared to a female patient above 60 years of age.
   According to the news, the study also showed that due to the distance of the patient's place of residence from the capital Delhi, gender discrimination in treatment also increases. A far fewer number of women from Bihar and Purvanchal (Uttar Pradesh) came for treatment than Delhi. In 2016, the number of men who came for treatment in AIIMS from Bihar was more than 2 lakh, while the number of women was recorded 84,926.
    This gender inequality was less visible in Delhi. Here, the number of women was 4 lakh 80 thousand as against 6 lakh 60 thousand male patients.

Chidambaram's remand extended for four days

   The CBI special court has extended the remand of former Finance Minister P Chidambaram for four more days in the INX Media case. 
 
  He will now be produced before the court on 30 August. Earlier, the Supreme Court has given relief to Chidambaram till Tuesday in the money laundering case involving INX Media. The case has been filed by the Enforcement Directorate or ED which wants to arrest them separately. 
  Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram was arrested last week on Wednesday 21 August in a corruption case. 
  It is reported that he challenged the custody of the CBI in the Supreme Court. On which during the hearing on Monday, Chidambaram's lawyer Kapil Sibal said that this petition can be included in the list of hearing only on the orders of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi.
