Prime Minister said, countrymen adopt healthy lifestyle

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries, center operators and Jan Aushadhi Mitras at five locations Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Maruti Nagar, Diu and Mangalore, Karnataka. Interacting with the beneficiaries, the Prime Minister requested them to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The Prime Minister told him that due to affordable prices, patients are taking essential medicines for better health outcomes. He praised the youth promoting the Jan Aushadhi movement and appealed to them to cooperate in the ongoing vaccine campaign.

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 'Jan Aushadhi Divas' function through video conference. He dedicated the 7500th Jan Aushadhi Center at NEIGRIHMS, Shillong to the nation during the program. He also held talks with the beneficiaries of the Prime Minister's Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Project. The Prime Minister praised the stakeholders for their excellent work.

    The Prime Minister asked the beneficiaries to publicize the benefits of Jan Aushadhi. He said that you are my family and your diseases are diseases of my family members, therefore, I want all my countrymen to be healthy. On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that the Janaushadhi Yojana has proved to be very helpful for the poor and middle class families. It is becoming a medium for both service and employment. The dedication of the 7500th center of Janaushadhi in Shillong is a sign of publicity of Jan Aushadhi centers in the northeast. Modi said that the scheme is providing medicines at low prices to the people of hilly areas, northeast and tribal areas.

   He said that the dedication of the 7500th center is also important because six years ago it did not even have 100 centers all over India. He called for achieving the target of 10,000 centers. Poor and middle class families are saving about Rs 3600 crore per year on expensive medicines. He said that this scheme is also promoting the spirit of self-reliant India among women as more than 1000 centers are being run by women only. The Prime Minister said that to promote the scheme, the economic incentive has been increased from 2.5 lakhs to 5 lakhs with an additional incentive of 2 lakhs for Dalits, tribal women and people of the Northeast.

    The Prime Minister said that the demand for medicines and surgery has increased in India. Production is also increasing to keep pace with the increasing demand. A large number of employment opportunities are also arising. He said that 75 AYUSH medicines are also available in Janaushadhi centers. Patients will also benefit from getting cheap AYUSH medicines and Ayurveda and AYUSH will also benefit in the field of medicine.

    The Prime Minister said that for a long time, in government terms, health was considered only a matter of disease and treatment. However, the subject of health is not limited only to disease and treatment, but it affects the economic and social fabric of the country. He said, to create a holistic approach towards health, the government has also worked on the causes of diseases. He also referred to the government's overall attitude towards health like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Free LPG Connection, Ayushman Bharat, Mission Indradhanush, Nutrition Campaign and Yoga.

     The Prime Minister also highlighted the United Nations' recognition of the year 2023 as the International Year of Coarse Grains. Emphasizing the need to promote coarse grains, he said that it will not only provide nutritious food grains but will also increase the income of farmers.

    Focusing on the heavy burden of medical treatment on poor families, the Prime Minister said that in recent years efforts are being made to remove all forms of discrimination in treatment and make medical treatment accessible to every poor person in the country. is. The Prime Minister said that for this, the prices of essential medicines for heart stent knee surgery equipment have been reduced by leaps and bounds. He said that Ayushman Yojana has ensured free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh for more than 50 crore poor families in the country. More than 1.5 crore people have availed it so far and have saved around Rs 30,000 crore.

    The Prime Minister praised scientists for the indigenously developed corona vaccine and said that today India has vaccines available not only for local use but also to help the world. He emphasized that the government has specially taken into consideration the interests of the poor and middle class for vaccination. Vaccination in government hospitals is free and only 250 rupees are being taken in private hospitals, which is the lowest price in the world.

     The Prime Minister emphasized the need for infrastructure for effective treatment and availability of quality medical staff. He said that the government has started working on a holistic approach in expanding health infrastructure from primary hospitals in villages to tertiary hospitals and medical colleges like AIIMS.
