Dr. Kalam's role in making India's defense and self-reliance self-reliant

New Delhi. Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that Dr. Kalam has played a leading role in making India's defense and space systems self-reliant. 

  Vice President was addressing a gathering gathered on the occasion of flagging the rally for 'Clean and Green India' as part of the celebrations organized on the occasion of 86th birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

     The Vice President said that Dr. Kalam was the son of the builder who used to share newspaper in childhood to help his family's livelihood. He made an unforgettable journey till he became the first citizen of India from there due to hard work, passion and self-confidence.  

   He said that 'people's presidents' always advised school students and youths to 'dare to dream and try to reach the sky'. 

   Vice President said that despite reaching the President of India's excellent post, Kalam always remained simple and humble throughout life. They always met with love and warmth with all those who worked with them or were familiar with them, no matter who they were at the post or in any background. 

     The Vice President recalled that he had met Dr. Kalam on many occasions. Any discussion made with them was an experience of learning for them. The Vice President said that Dr. Kalam's vision was to see that India was transformed completely into a developed country by 2020.

   He believed that it was not difficult for India to achieve this status, given the talent, hard work and hard work of the people.The Vice President said that Dr. Kalam always used to say that 'strongness respects strength'. He wanted to see India emerging as a leading economic power.
